I am still in a state of disbelief and shock that one of the music legends that I had admired for his contribution to music has died at the meager age of 50. I am comforted that I am not alone in this either, so many people have been waking up today with this truly depressing news. Many like me would have been looking forward to seeing him in a month's time at the 02. We were preparing to be amazed, as, we know that Jackson would have put up a truly spectacular show with great effects and background antiques to go with his music, which is what the Jackson music stands for.

Michael Jackson is a pop star that was of my generation having grown up listening to his music in the 80s. He was the one I remember for doing the thriller' video which is still amazing; he will be known not only for his great music but also for the stunning videos behind his music which all admired. The future generation can only strive to achieve what Jackson created. Jacko will be the one that was the one who introduced movies to music videos. Yes, the idea came from Jackson .

I was a fan who was getting ready to splash out 800 on a package tour to see him at the 02 as I was not fortunate enough to have mastered a ticket sale when they were released earlier this year.

The news of his death was something that my mind and heart did not want to believe, I first heard of the news that he had collapsed at home and was not breathing when I was watching the ITN news at 10. I did not pay attention to this, as; I like many others may have thought that it was the media playing a trick on us again, as he was due in London to perform at the 02 in less than a month.

However, I soon got a text message from a close friend of mine who is also a doctor and a reliable source, who told me that Michael Jackson is dead; it's all over the news.

I panicked, at first I did not want to believe this, but knew that I would not be able to sleep without finding out what this was all about. I thus disseminated downstairs to switch on sky news, the news story reminded me of the time when I was watching the reporters following OJ Simpson around on the helicopter when he had allegedly escaped murdering a member of his family.

There were unconfirmed reports that he had died, a source from the Los Angeles Times had reliable' information of this. However, nothing was confirmed. I did not want to believe this. Half an hour later it had been confirmed that Michael Jackson had died as the paramedics and doctors were not able to resuscitate him despite trying for an hour.

I woke up this morning to find tributes splashed across the headline news stories, with well wishers paying their tributes and other stars such as Madonna stating that she has not stopped crying since hearing the news. Others stated that it was like when Elvis died'. The news of his death is like when we heard of Diana dying. The nation was in mourning with the news that a musical legend had left us, without fulfilling the 'The last This Is It Show' concert at the O2 in London .

"Civil rights activist Rev Al Sharpton paid tribute to his friend from outside the UCLA medical centre, saying, "I knew him 35 years. When he had problems he would call me," he said. "I feel like he was not treated fairly. I hope history will be more kind to him than some of the contemporary media."

Uri Geller said he was "devastated and lost for words".

President Obama said " Michael Jackson was a spectaculor performer".

I truly hope and pray that people remember Michael Jackson for the contribution he has made to the music industry and for the standard he has created for others to admire and for his music and musical videos to act as a benchmark for the future music artists. He achieved a lot from the early days, despite the backlash, the rejection. Jackson had the inner self belief that he can be great just as his father had stated and yes, to me and am sure to other millions of fans he was.

His Music will live on forever!
